Add open shifts

An open shift is not assigned to any specific team member. When you publish an open shift, whoever claims the open shift first can take that shift.

How to create an open shift on Camelo

  1. Click the Scheduler tab at the top of the page.
  2. On the Open Shifts row, hover over the cell you want to add an open shift.
  3. Click the + button in the bottom-right corner of the cell.
  4. Click Create Custom Shift. If you have pre-made shift templates, you can select one here instead of entering details manually.
  5. Fill in the details of the shift.
    • Position: Select the duty/job title of the employee taking that shift.
    • Offer To: Select the employees you want to offer the open shift to.
    • Start Time: Select the starting date and time of the shift.
    • End Time: Select the ending date and time of the shift.
    • Unpaid Break: Enter the duration of the unpaid break of the shift.
    • Repeat: Select options to create recurring shifts.
    • Job Site: Select the location where the shift takes place.
    • Shift Title: Enter the title of the shift.
    • Note: Write down your notes for the assignee.
    • Task List: Add task lists that need to be completed during the shift.
  6. Click Create Shift.
  1. Go to the Scheduler tab at the bottom of the screen, and select the ••• icon in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Add Shift.
  3. Turn on Open Shift and fill in the details of the shift.
  4. Tap Add to finish.

📌 You can also add open shifts right from the Scheduler tab. In the weekly team calendar view, simply tap on any blocks on the Open row (under the day numbers). Then, fill in the details of the open shift and tap Add.
